Half a meter waves are not really favourable conditions for searching, though.

Searching for Hval requires good conditions. It sank in 2004 settling upright on bare rock. In 2010, it was already in about one meter of sediment. They had dug a tunnel to take the propeller out. I would estimate that the sediment layer is now up to the gunwale. That makes it difficult to see it on the sidescan sonar.

Also looking at the weather conditions: we have gale warnings for the sea area (17 m/s). In the morning. I doubt that we would have only “half a meter” but rather one and half meters of swell. I am only considering going out to a sheltered place nearby. The only target is hence Lauri. If the wind forecast gets worse, I need to cancel the trip.

Wind is calming down as predicted. Provided that we can leave shortly after sunset we will get to the place with still some light. The travel time is ca 30min.
